Dear Parents and Guardians

We offer you a warm welcome to Stondon Lower School and hope that this will be the beginning of a rewarding partnership with your family. We believe that the primary years are a vitally important time for sowing the seeds of curiosity, fostering good working habits and encouraging a love of learning.  We aim to help all children settle in happily and to feel enthusiastic about their work.

Stondon Lower School has a staff and governing body who are committed to meeting the needs of the children in a challenging environment and they are actively supported in this by the Parent Teacher Association (PETALS), the SAS (Stondon After School Club) and Breakfast Club and by close links with the local community.

The information given in this prospectus is no substitute for a visit and you are strongly recommended to make an appointment to visit the school with your child.  We look forward to meeting you.

Mrs Jill Davies

Headteacher

Quotes from OFSTED Inspection October 2012
"Pupils in years 1 to 4 make good progress  in English and Mathamatics and produce work that is above expections for their age"
"Children in the Early Years Foundation Stage make good progress in learning to read, write, form letters and find out about numbers"
"The school uses its involvement in "Values Education" exceptionally well and makes contribution to pupils' personal development"

We have made every effort to provide up-to-date and accurate information, which is both clear and easy to understand.  However, it should not be assumed that there will be no change in the current year or subsequent years.
